Modelbashaus 1932 Gee Bee R-1
This project actually started many years ago when I bought the Pegasus kit. That became one of only 3 or 4 models I never finished and I threw it away when I bough this kit 10 or so years ago. When I finally pulled it out of my stash last month it built up very well but when the decals were used they disintegrated completely. So I bought the Amodel kit and used those decals to finish this model. I wish I'd just built the Amodel kit since that looks a lot better in all respects and has LOTS more interior detail. I doubt that much can be seen when the model is completed, though. This is rigged, like my other models, with stainless steel surgical wire (see the Laird solution story). The spreader bars were made from cat whiskers graciously discarded by our felines. These make great whip antennas for cars, too!
