The Racing & Record kit lists contain more than 200 modelling products: kits, conversion kits and decal sheets. The criterion for inclusion in the lists is that the products, as sold, are for R&R planes. Kits of planes such as the P-51 have only been included if they include an R&R marking alternative.
The lists are subdivided in the following categories:
- Pre-1914 R&R Landplanes
- 1918-1945 Distance and Endurance R&R Planes
- 1918-1945 Speed R&R Landplanes (except US "Golden Age")
- 1929-1939 US "Golden Age" R&R Planes
- R&R Seaplanes
- Jet- and Rocket-Powered R&R Planes
- Post-1945 Unlimited R&R Planes
- Post-1945 Piston-Engined R&R Planes (except Unlimiteds)
Sometimes it is difficult to decide the category, especially between "Distance and Endurance" and "Speed Landplanes". If you don't find a plane in the place that you first thought of, please look in another!
The lists are in PDF format. For viewing PDF files you need Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded free from www.adobe.com. You will find an explanation of the abbreviations used in the kit list here.
A list of this kind is never complete, there is always some extra information to be added. If you know of any kits or other products that you think should be added to the list, or if you have any corrections or any additional information that should be added, for example some useful references, please contact us. We are also interested in production and release dates of kits.
The lists are maintained by Friedhelm Wegener – a big thanks for the effort!
